Created to supplement a set of rapid prototyped models, this animation was also presented to research and development forums hosted by Samsung, as an example of future concepts within telecommunications. Located in urban parks areas where leaked information-carrying fields are rife, the datapod EMF (electromagnetic field) jammers work under the same principle as commercial radio wave jammers used to halt cellphone signals.
Reacting to the 'carrier' of an information glut, these issue forth white noise that block the carrier signals needed by electronic devices to pick up 'phone calls, wireless networks etc. While this is taking place, the pods open up as a visual reference to their functioning. |
